We’re a couple who wanted an excuse to read more, cook more, explore other cultures and worlds through reading while we pigged out on delicious food.

Half of the podcast is Zeid – a Software Engineer with a short attention span and an ambition to read everything I can. With a preference for nonfiction, history and philosophy, and barely scratching the surface of fiction and fantasy with interest.

Candice is the other half – a nerd who is a bit more specialized in Japanese culture and music, and with a background more steeped in fantasy and sci fi. Candice is the ‘traditional’ nerd, ensuring that someone points out extremely important things such as Star Trek references.

We live in the Pacific Northwest with our cats, Nyan and Luna.

Nyan is a senior mixed race part gray Maine coon, a sassy ball of fluff with an attitude to match her intimidating shape.

Luna is a scrawny old lady, a bit like Aunt Edna from the Simpsons, she has the meow of a lifelong smoker.
